County Driver Authorization

Pima County Driver Authorization is required for anyone operating a County vehicle or driving a personal vehicle on County business. This Administrative Procedure describes in depth the process for obtaining Driver Authorization, which, upon approval, is good for three years from the date of completion of the online Defensive Driving course. This Admin Procedure  pdf-icon describes the Driver Authorization and Qualification Procedure, which, upon approval, is good for three years from the date of completion of the online Defensive Driving course. To register to take the course, contact Lisa Romero or Jim Fisher at the Office of Emergency Management (724-9300).  The ~1 hour course must be completed on a County computer.  OEM suggests making an appointment to take the course at PECOC in the Radio Room.

After successful completion of the course, submit to the Office of Emergency Management a copy of your completion certificate, and the two forms below. Electronic versions are acceptable.
